I would be interested in trying this model. However, I would like to have it second-hand and cheaper than this...
How do you do when you are going to NL? I mean, the kayaks you Lucien referred to seem to be in different locations in NL?

Re: kayaks de mer pour petits budgets
The problem is I don't know what kayak I want. If it is something I don't know about I would like to try it first. The kayaks you mention Lucien I know nothing about. Serge, which one was it that I used at Nieuwpoort?
I would like to have something that is possible to roll (most Prijons disappear here) and that easily be turned without a rudder but still has a good direction stability. I have been thinking of Tahe marine since they are pretty cheap, but if I am going to buy one of their models I would want the sea-spirit. That one they don't have on special price at kanoshop.nl I found this really difficult. Maybe I am spoiled by having such a good kayak (Rockpool) at home. Help me somebody, what do I want?

Anette, if your intention is to wait until you find a cheap second-hand Tiderace kayak... I'am affraid you'll get back in Sweden before you'll find it!!!Anette Rothberg a écrit:I would be interested in trying this model. However, I would like to have it second-hand and cheaper than this...
That's right. It means one has to plan an effective route in order to reach several places during the same journey. It also means you should be sure you are really interested in a particular boat before you decide to make the journey. You are not going to drive 200 km to see a kayak you probably wouldn't buy!Anette Rothberg a écrit:How do you do when you are going to NL? When? As far as I can remember you have paddled several Prijon from Lucien or Remi, a Valley Nordkapp at Gravelines... Maybe was it my Lettmann Eski 525 at Nieuwpoort?Anette Rothberg a écrit: Serge, which one was it that I used at Nieuwpoort?
Why the Hell should eskimo rolling be such an important issue here?Anette Rothberg a écrit:I would like to have something that is possible to roll (most Prijons disappear here) and that easily be turned without a rudder but still has a good direction stability.
Anette, How long are you going to stay in Belgium and have the opportunity to paddle with us? Do you thing you have to improve your skills during this time? Or do you thing we will get you in difficult paddling circumstances? I don't thing so.
From my point of view you just need a second hand seakayak you feel comfortable in. You need a simple boat that's not below your actual skills ; that doesn't make you paddling slower or burn your energy to make it go straight. And also a boat you could sell again easily.
I'm pretty sure that's the main cause of your irresolution.Anette Rothberg a écrit:Maybe I am spoiled by having such a good kayak (Rockpool) at home.

What? You mean I am not going to improve my skills by paddling with you? But I want to improve my kayaking skills, both on sea and river!

Re: kayaks de mer pour petits budgets
Hihihi! Anyway you already inproved your skills on river; because you didn't paddle on river before...
I only meant that you'll probably never find a second hand kayak to use here if you keep on demanding all the possible technical benefit from it.

Yes, that is probably about it. Then I would prefer a skeg instead of a rudder. The following problem is how do I know how much energy I need to burn to make the boat go straight before I have tried it? This is the really tricky point. Some kayak brands I know something about and could decide about without trying them. Others, for instance all French brands I know nothing about.
I would still like to try the Skyros in Gravelines, or do you think it is below my actual skills? Most Prijons I would in one way say are below my actual skills althought they are good boats.
Then I also have to try that I sit somewhat comfortable in the kayak.
How about this one, VKN Svalbard? Also a brand I know nothing about.
I also saw another one that might be something at marktplaats yesterday but I don't find it today...

Bien vu Cornelia!

Do you use to go to Arjan Bloem kayak center? I find several kayaks there that could be possible. Do they let their customers try the kayaks? I would very much like to do that.
